WAF is a piano trio with optional spoken word sections. This work was commissioned by Cacie Miller and premiered in September 2023 at Constellation in Chicago. This work was the fruit of my personal process dealing with the anxiety, fear, anger, sadness, nostalgia, and hopelessness I feel in the face of the rapidly deteriorating state of the biosphere and the growing instability and loss due to climate change. The spoken word sections I recited in the performance are my own words and are available with purchase. However, performers are invited to write their own text and pair it with the music in whatever way they see fit.
